The minecraft server has been updated to the Tekkit 2.1.1 release. There is a corresponding client update, although the Technic launcher doesn't consider it the 'mainstream' version yet, so you may have to click options in the technic launcher with tekkit selected and make sure you are launching with the 2.1 version of the client.

When you spawn into the minecraft server, the first sight you see when you pan around will probably be something like this:
There is a perimeter wall around the base camp, and prodigious placement of torches to hopefully prevent mob spawning inside the walls. So you should be able to let your guard and your hair down. Mostly.

I'd threatened it for a few weeks, and now it's here: the predicate multiplayer minecraft server. And it's not just a vanilla minecraft server, a Tekkit server running the brand-spanking-new Tekkit 2.0 release. What does that mean? It means mods, mods, mods that add a staggering amount of stuff to vanilla Minecraft.
