Meetup housing update!

This morning (21 April) I got an email from the Fremont Place people - they had a cancellation and can now accomodate us for a total price of $950 for the two nights, which works out to about $160 per person, assuming we have 6 people stay there. I'd like to let these people know today if we're interested in taking this place over our other one. For comparison, Fremont Place is about 1.5 blocks from Wrigley field and easy walking distance to Miah's place, as well as 2 blocks to the Red Line.
Let me know if you guys are up for it.

Hi Victor... we just received a cancellation so we now have 1 apartment available for a check-in of May 16 and a check-out of May 18 (2 nights).
For your group of 4 adults and 0 kids, 1 apartment is sufficient. Each apartment sleeps up to 3-6 guests; or 4-8 guests with the use of the 2 additional twin beds (additional fee).
All 3 of our apartments are under the same roof. The address of the apartment building is 3742 N. Fremont, Chicago, IL 60613. Click the following tinyurl link to view us on Google Maps: http://tinyurl.com/2a6uz9.
Our 2-night rate for your dates is $425 per night per apartment. This rate assumes 6 or less guests per apartment. The 11.9% IL lodging tax does need to be applied since your stay is less than 30 days.
The apartment includes linens & towels, all utilities, cable tv, wireless internet, unlimited nationwide calling, laundry facilities and cleaning service before and after your stay. Each of our 3 apartments have 1 queen-size bed in the 2 bedrooms as well as a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. There are also 2 full bathrooms, a living room, a dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen in each apartment. Each apartment is about 1300 square feet. We can provide 1-2 twin beds for a $25 per bed per night fee.
We currently have 2 of our 3 parking spots available for your requested dates. The 2-night rate is $20 per night per spot.
The apartments are 1.5 blocks to Wrigley Field, 2 blocks to the Addison Stop of the Red Line as well as 1-2 blocks to numerous buses. You can check the best use of public transportation using this link: http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com or by calling the Regional Transit Authority at 312-836-7000. Additionally, taxi-cabs are plentiful.
Let me know if you have any questions! If you're ready to move forward with a reservation, I will forward reservation instructions that require that, within 1 day, an online form is completed and the grand total is received. This is due to your stay beginning within 30 days.
Thanks,
Karen
I have made some HORRIBLE
I have made some HORRIBLE scheduling errors because I didn't bother to double-check the calendar. I'd like to tentatively sign up for a room, but I've screwed up most royally and need to scramble to salvage any and all plans.
BOOK THAT.
That's my friend Karen's place that I tried to get you into originally. They were booked when I checked in late January/early February.
Just my opinion, of course, I'm not the one spending the money :)
Confused.
Dude, your math is kind of odd, here. The e-mail specifies $425 a night, which works out to $142 per person for the two nights, if you have six people.
In contrast, if I'm reading your other post right, that place is $185 a night, which works out to $62 per person for the two nights. That's a pretty huge difference, unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Also...if you were wondering, I'm planning to come too (whee!). And I would like to stay in whatever apartment is selected. It doesn't matter to me which, although again I'm a little perplexed at the price difference. The pricier one seems to have more beds available, though.
Further, I know I'm signing on late, so I'm also happy to bring an air mattress (queen size) to expand our sleeping options if necessary.
Price difference
It's all location. Fremont Place is between my place (addison and the lake) and Wrigley Field (Addison and Clark Street). You're in the heart of Wrigleyville.
The other location is about 4 miles to my southwest in a neighborhood called Bucktown, which is also a fun (sort of edgy) neighborhood. It is not, however, near the Lake, Wrigley Field, Kaz or myself :)

Ahhh. It's all clear to me
Ahhh. It's all clear to me now. Okay, yeah, based on that, sounds like it'd be better located and better accommodations. I say book it, then.
yes
My sister and I would like to stay.
Booking is go, sounds like.
I b'lieve that's six right there then, innit? squorch, stankow, dr_jerk, rawdog, sis, and me. If anyone else RSVPs, I can bring my air mattress and/or we can ask for the extra twin beds, and the price only decreases beyond that point.
Doesn't matter to me.
Inexpensive is good, but I just paid $80/night for a crummy motel room miles from anywhere, so the higher rate isn't undoable. So, not knowing Chicago, I'll defer to somebody in the know.
