Week 4 Recap
Posted by Ajax 13 weeks ago
With roughly a third of the season behind us, the divisional rankings are starting to harden. None of the top two teams in any division budged this week, although some new teams have managed to wedge their way into a potential playoff berth with those all-important divisional wins.
Still, it traditionally takes at least seven wins to guarantee a ticket to the post-season, and even our best teams still only have four. So there's plenty of time for a shake-up in the standings. But sooner would be better than later for the eight teams who are currently sitting on a losing record. :)
Couplets ahoy!
This year, it seems the Balls might be for real.
Just how does your first two-game win streak feel?
Final Score: Beefalo Balls 70.1 -- Oak Ridge Trinities 63.3.
LJ breaks The Show out of the cellar;
Army's slipping faster than Old Yeller.
Final Score: Army of Darkness 59.2 -- Amherst The Show 85.1.
No Belichick for mule's team in Week 4,
The Pirates left their Panties on the floor.
Final Score: Pacific Coast Pirates 80.5 -- The Pantywaists 72.7.
Chicago boys dueled for The Silver Streak,
But wurd got caught with an ill-timed bye week.
Final Score: Fustigators 69.5 -- Rhyparographers 93.8.
Tastiks romp with Romo, Reed and Walter;
Crappy wide-outs caused Great Lakes to falter.
Final Score: Los Tastiks 117.3 -- Great Lakes Steamers 62.9.
The Cheatahs lost, but fans should still hold fast.
They're ninth in points, though overall they're last.
Final Score: Cheatahs 53.2 -- Ghost 90.9.
Headbangers grabbed another win Week 4.
But their QB was injured, and is sore.
Final Score: Headbangers 82.6 -- Arborists 50.4.
A Fried Soup slugfest knocked the Nitehawkez back:
Three Ls in three weeks has them looking slack.
Final Score: Grim And Frostbitten 62.1 -- Arcane Nitehawkez 56.6.
And Irish claimed our trophy for best coach,
He squashed The Iron Yuppies like a roach.
Final Score: Hooligans 106.4 -- Iron Yuppies 63.6.
Brett Favre chucked 6 TDs, a career high.
Remind me why the Packers cut this guy?
Our next Game of the Week is a very interesting inter-divisional matchup between two 3-1 teams. Grim And Frostbitten hasn't lost a game since clashing with The Headbangers in Week 1, but the Pacific Coast Pirates have outscored them by an average of 28 points a week and also have a Belichick sitting in their trophy case.
Elsewhere in inter-divisional play, the Beefalo Balls have a chance to grab a third straight win if they can take down the luckless Baystate Wicked Cheatahs, who can't seem to catch themselves a W no matter how many points they score.
Tune in next week for more Predicate Pigskin!
