Predicate Pigskin 6: Week 11

Only two weeks left in the regular season, and we still don't know who's going to the playoffs, although we can take some pretty good guesses.
There was tumult at the top of the standings in Week 11, as the two second-place "challenger" teams both defeated their division leaders, sending the second-place Ann Arbor Hippies and the third-place Headbangers tumbling down to 5th and 6th place respectively. There's still time for both teams to regain the top spot, but neither controls their own destiny: I'm Thinkin RBs and the Beefalo Balls would have to lose at least one of their final two games. Fried Soup also gives the Fargo Arborists an outside chance at winning the division, should an extinction-level event destroy their top two rivals, and Your Mom still boasts four teams with mathematical chances to win that division, based on a variety of outcomes that may include sunspot activity.
As far as the larger playoff picture is concerned, the official Predicate Pigskin Statistician assures me that only six teams have been definitively eliminated at this point:
- Grim & Frostbitten
- Arcane Nitehawkez
- Army of Darkness
- Amherst The Show
- Chicago Qualtaghs
- Edgewater Fustigators
This leaves a full 14 of our 20 teams still alive for the post-season, with only one division clinched and one other team (the Beefalo Balls, who grabbed win #9 this week) guaranteed at least a wild card berth. With the bye weeks finally behind us, all teams will be at full strength to finish out their season -- one way or another!
Tune in next week for more Predicate Pigskin!
