Roller Coaster Meetup?
Some of us in chat have been batting around the possibility of a Roller Coaster themed Meetup this summer. Since we're just in the very early stages I thought it'd be nice to have a story up about it to solicit ideas and hammer out details before we do anything rash like put up a poll.
Time: Indeterminate, but probably not end of June, so as not to conflict with Stankow's U.S. Tour '07.
Place: Indeterminate, but Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH has been suggested.
It's been ages since I went to a roller coaster park, so I'm jazzed about this idea. Let's see what we can come up with. :)

I don't know if these is any good.. but if we could settle on a vicinity, at least we could figure it out from there, hopefully.

I wouldn't want to go to such an event [1], but Cedar Point does have the dubious distinction of having more roller coasters than anywhere else (17).
[1] My last trip there was about 12 years ago--it was my friend Dan's dad's company picnic day, so Kristin and I a) got in free; b) got all the free beer we could drink; c) got all the free brats we could eat. Under those conditions, Cedar Point was a pretty fun place to go [but then so would most people's backyards]. Generally speaking my recollection is that there is a lot of superheated asphalt, a lot of waiting in line, and a lot of couples in matching outfits. Along with it costing a small fortune.
